Manager for Dutch National Institute for subatomic Physics (Nikhef)

Arjen van Rijn is institute manager and deputy director of the Dutch National Institute for subatomic Physics (Nikhef) since 1999. Through the Nikhef activities in networking and distributed computing, and in particular through his role as project leader of the Dutch BiG Grid project (2007-2012), he became involved in the development of the national e-infrastructure, coordinated by SURF. He was one of the founders of EGI.eu (European Grid Infrastructure) and member of its Executive Board in the years 2010 - 2014. He is a Dutch delegate for the European e-Infrastructure Reflection Group (e-IRG) since July 2012. On behalf of e-IRG he is member of the ESFRI Strategic Working Group on Environmental Sciences and the ESFRI Strategic Working Group on Data, Computing and Digital Research Infrastructures.
