Philippe Segers

Philippe Segers Head of European High Performance Computing (HPC) projects for GENCI, the French HPC agency, where he manage the contribution of the French partners (CEA/CNRS/University and Inria) to the PRACE projects, member of PRACE Technical Board and Management Board, and he was work-package leader of the PRACE Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) on “Whole System Design for Energy Efficient HPC” (procurement of R&D for Finish, French, German, Italian and UK partners).

Thomas Zastrow

Thomas Zastrow received a PhD in computational linguistics at the University of Tübingen. He was working for digital infrastructure projects CLARIN-D and EUDAT. Since 2013, he is working as senior data scientist at the Max Planck Computing and Data Facility in Garching (MPCDF). He is member of the data group at MPCDF and involved in internal and external data driven projects. In the Research Data Alliance (RDA) he was co-chairing a working group (Research Data Collections).

Eva Mendez

 Eva Méndez holds a PhD in Library and Information Sciences (LIS) and is an expert in metadata. She defines herself in her Twitter profile as an ‘open knowledge militant’ (@evamen). She has been a lecturer at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), LIS department since 1997.She has been an active member of several international research teams, advisory boards and communities including: DCMI, OpenAire, Metadata2020, RDA, etc. In 2005-06 she was awarded a Fulbright Research Scholarship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (USA).

Fotis E. Psomopoulos

Dr Fotis E. Psomopoulos works as a Researcher at the Clinical Genetics research group of the Dept of Molecular Medicine and Surgery at Karolinska Institutet and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute of Applied Biosciences (INAB) of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), with a primary focus on bioinformatics workflows and computational analysis of large bio-datasets.

Pedro Gonçalves

Pedro Gonçalves is Terradue director, a company started in 2006 as a spinoff of the European Space Agency following his postdoctoral work designing the Grid infrastructure in ESRIN, the ESA G-POD (Grid Processing on Demand for Earth Observation). With the participation in several European Commission and European Space Agency projects, Terradue is supporting international organizations, research institutes and commercial companies in deploying their Earth Observation services into Cloud platforms tapping new computational and data resources.
