WP1 - Management

• The first External Advisory Board was held during the Stakeholders meeting. The agenda persuaded them to make comments on EOSC across the spectrum. There was also discussion on the process of submitting to calls. Notes from the meeting are being written up. These will be submitted to EXC before going to the General Assembly.
• Formal Review. The commission is looking for a date at the beginning of March. Cost statements will be requested immediately after Christmas so partners are requested to work towards this.

WP4 - Science Demonstrators

• Monthly WP4 meeting for Nov was held on Nov 22; updates from SDs available in repository, also the minutes.
• New five Science Demonstrators Shepherd and co-shepherd assignments done, kickoff meeting held on Nov 23. SDs and assigned shepherds are working on the workplans,expected to be produced and uploaded in Dec.
• Stakeholder event in Brussels. All active Science Demonstrators with the exception of CERN were participating; plenary and parallel sessions with SDs organized and chaired by WP4, summary reports provided to WP8.
• Monthly WP4 meeting planned for Dec 13, 10-11 CET.
• First five Science demonstrators:
  • ERFI started late, will run longer as second 5 SDs.
  • PanCancer would like to prolong with no additional EOSCpilot resources.
  • Neutron & photon would also like to prolong without additional resources (then only DPHEP/CERN and TextCrowd would end in Dec 2017 and provide final reports in Jan 2018.)
• Deliverable D4.3 was provided for review on Nov 13;
  • Reviews should be provided to the authors by Dec 13; otherwise finalized version can be produced only as of Jan 8, 2018.
  • The longer duration than 12 months of some SDs (see 5) ) will be added to the final version of D4.3.
• Template for final reports of SDS due end of Jan 2018 for those terminating has been designed and uploaded to the repository. Open for suggestions for additions.

WP5 - Services

• Working at deliverable D5.1. Foreseen delay of at least a week (after Jan 1). Several unresolved issues. Internal review has not started yet. Areas of non consent: nomenclature/definition discrepancies.
• Working on deliverable D5.2. Foreseen delay of a week (after Jan 1). Waiting for return of first round of reviews. External reviewers can start end of the week.
• D5.1, D5.2 External reviewers will be notified about delay.

WP6 - EOSC Interoperability

• Deliverable D6.3: EOSCpilot data interoperability: strategy, architecture and recommendations. Final editing period. Draft available here .
• Deliverable D6.4: Initial requirements of the interoperability testbeds. Draft in progress. However, the document will not be ready for review before Christmas, thus expected delivery date around mid-January. See the status here and here.
• All-hands WP6 telecon foreseen this week.
• WP6.3 common telecon with WP5 (Task 5.4) today (Tuesday, 14h30 CET)
• We provided referees from WP6 for WP5 deliverables

WP8 - Engagement and Communication

• WP8 has been substantially involved in organizing and supporting EOSC Stakeholder event.
  • Writing & publication of booklet

  • Agenda management & Programme Committee call
  • Event promotion (website, social media, newsletter, email invitations)
  • Registration management
  • Budget management
  • Event management & logistics
  • Graphics & signage
  • On-site event management
  • Rapporteuring at sessions
• Next actions
  • Most presentations from the event are now online and requests have been sent for those missing.
  • Collection of rapporteur reports from all sessions now underway.
  • Post-event message to participants
  • Videos & interviews now being elaborated for publication.
• Workshop submitted & organised in WP8
  • Submission of proposal for Intermediaries workshop was successful. It will be held on Monday afternoon 19 February 2018 at IDCC conference in Barcelona, workshop title “How Research Institutions and Libraries can help deliver the European Open Science Cloud”. Registration to open soon, start planning communication and promotion activities.
  • A proposal for a lightning talk and poster by UGOE and LIBER for the Open Science Conference 2018 (Berlin 13-14 March) was accepted. Title “How Research libraries can build on the EOSC to support scientific communities”.
  • DANS organized an “Open Science in Ecological and Evolutionary Research” Workshop, 7- 8 December 2017, Amsterdam Science Park.
  • Submitted a proposal for a workshop back-to-back with ESOF2018 Conference 10-14 July
