Scientific director for Computing and Data, CNRS-IN2P3
He finished his PhD in astrophysics at Hamburg University in 2001, and then became postdoc at the INTEGRAL Science Data Centre (ISDC) in Geneva to build the data analysis pipeline of the INTEGRAL gammaray satellite’s spectrograph. From 2003 to 2007 he worked as head of the INTEGRAL guest observer facility at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Centre, and taught at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He returned in 2007 to the ISDC as project manager for the INTEGRAL data analysis and in 2009 became researcher at CNRS, working for the APC laboratory in Paris as project scientist of the FACe, a data and computing centre for spaceand ground-based astroparticle physics. He also worked as Euclid and SVOM/ECLAIRs data processing project manager at APC and supervised PhD and master students. His expertise is on data processing in (astro)particle physics, and on super massive black holes. His expertise allowed him to be past and present member of several satellite steering and evaluation committees, both for ESA and NASA.
