Patrick Aerts

Dr. Patrick Aerts, senior research fellow at DANS, is responsible for the harmonization of Research Data Management Planning requirements (national and European) and for Software Sustainability. As advisor Strategic Alliances at the Netherlands eScience Center, he maintains two platforms: ePLAN at the national level -as secretary- and PLAN-E at the European level -as chairman. These platforms are concerned with matters of common (eScience) interest.

Elly Dijk

Elly Dijk

A human geographer by training, Elly Dijk is senior policy officer at Data Archiving and Networked Services (DANS). DANS is the Netherlands institute for permanent access to digital research resources. At DANS she is coordinator of the national scholarly open access portal NARCIS (narcis.nl). She is currently project leader of EOSCpilot, OpenAIRE Advance and temporarily of EOSC Hub (November 2018 – May 2019) at DANS. She is, together with a colleague of the library of the Technical University Delft, the National Open Access Desk (NOAD) for OpenAIRE.

As Director Global Strategic Networks(Europe) at Elsevier, Federica leads on strategic initiatives and external collaborations with stakeholders in the academic community in Northern Europe and EU. In this capacity, her primary focus is on all matters related to Open Science, research policy and innovation. Her experience in Scholarly communications, earned in fifteen years at Elsevier, spans marketing communications, publishing and business development. Her passion for Publishing traces back to her Master's degree in Literature, Press and Publishing History.

Before that he had responsibility for projects with EU Institutions in Europe e.g., infrastructures for public administrations and policy programs and was responsible for the business unit in South East Asia. He joined the Deutsche Telekom Group in 1994.

With over 25 years of experience in the global telecommunications industry from early stage research, full product development and network roll-outs around the world. Before joining GÉANT Shaun held various Directorships in several membership-based research and industrial organisations.  He is a registered UK Parliament and Science Advisor and an Industrial Representative to the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). Shaun holds Masters and MBA degrees.

David Pringle

The chair of the Science|Business Cloud Consultation Group, David Pringle is an experienced business journalist reporting on the development of the European Open Science Cloud.  Based in London, David works with organisations in the telecoms, media and technology sectors to produce insightful reports on the future of the digital economy. A regular moderator of panel discussions at major industry conferences, David also serves as an editor and presenter for Mobile World Live television.

Eliane Fankhauser

 

Eliane Fankhauser obtained her PhD about polyphonic music in the Netherlands in the late Middle Ages at Utrecht University. At KNAW-DANS she is a project manager and policy officer in the role of which she currently works on the external communication for the FREYA project and is the coordinator of the Oral History collection in the EASY repository. Together with a small team, moreover, she is working on a FAIR checklist for researchers to measure and evaluate the FAIRness of data.

Barend Mons

Barend Mons is a molecular biologist by training (PhD Leiden University 1986) He spent over 15 years in malaria research in close collaboration with endemic countries. After that he gained experience in computer-assisted knowledge discovery, which is still his research focus. He spent time with the European Commission as a Seconded National Expert with the INCO-DC pogramme (1993-1996) and with the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO 1966-1999). Barend also co-founded several spin off companies.
