Future Open Science services for scientific communities - AGENDA

The workshop "Future Open Science Services for Scientific Communities" will take place in Berlin (Germany), on October 24th 2017.

The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is a new flagship European Commission initiative that aims to accelerate and support the current transition to more effective Open Science and Open Innovation in the Digital Single Market. It should enable trusted access to services, systems and the re-use of shared scientific data across disciplinary, social and geographical borders. The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) aims to deliver joined-up, intuitive Open Science services that integrate seamlessly into research workflows. But what services do scientific communities want and need? What do they already know about the EOSC, and what are their hopes and expectations for it? And how can Infrastructures like OpenAIRE best evolve to optimally integrate with this new Open Science ecology?

This workshop, jointly run by the EOSCpilot project and OpenAIRE Germany, will address researchers from diverse scientific communities, as well as research administrators and libraries, to present the EOSC vision, its first phase of implementation via the EOSCpilot project, and OpenAIRE’s services for Open Science.

It will be a forum for dialogue, serve to collect participants feedback about expectations, challenges and issues that still need to be tackled, and will help both EOSCpilot and OpenAIRE to shape their future developments according to real researchers' needs.
