Marie Timmermann has more than 11 years of experience in EU policy and EU legislation. She has a background in political sciences and economics.

Astrid Verheusen

Astrid’s career began as a researcher at the Institute for Dutch History and as a product manager at Sdu Publishers. From 2001 onwards, Astrid worked at the National Library of the Netherlands. She was involved in projects and programs concerning mass digitisation, digital preservation and digital libraries. She headed the Digitisation Department (2009-2010) and the IT Department (2012-2014). Until May 2017 she was head of the Innovative Projects Department when she joined LIBER.

Eva Mendez

Eva Méndez holds a PhD in Library and Information Sciences (LIS) and is an expert in metadata. She defines herself in her Twitter profile as an ‘open knowledge militant’ (@evamen). She has been a lecturer at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), LIS department since 1997.She has been an active member of several international research teams, advisory boards and communities including: DCMI, OpenAire, Metadata2020, RDA, etc. In 2005-06 she was awarded a Fulbright Research Scholarship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (USA).

Donatella Castelli

Donatella Castelli is a Research Director at Istituto di Scienza e Tecnologie della Informazione  “A. Faedo” of the Italian National Research Council (CNR-ISTI). She has been the principal investigator of several European and International funded projects on digital libraries and data e-Infrastructures acquiring considerable experience in these domains. Currently, she is the principal investigator of the EU H2020 BlueBRIDGE project.

Before joining GÉANT Shaun held various Directorships in several membership-based research and industrial organisations.  He is a registered UK Parliament and Science Advisor and an Industrial Representative to the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). Shaun holds Masters and MBA degrees.

Thomas Zastrow

Thomas Zastrow received a PhD in computational linguistics at the University of Tübingen. He was working for digital infrastructure projects CLARIN-D and EUDAT. Since 2013, he is working as senior data scientist at the Max Planck Computing and Data Facility in Garching (MPCDF). He is member of the data group at MPCDF and involved in internal and external data driven projects. In the Research Data Alliance (RDA) he was co-chairing a working group (Research Data Collections).

Dr Tiina Kupila-Rantala works as Deputy Managing Director in CSC – IT Centre for Science Ltd., Finland. She is responsible for the company governance and strategy work. She belongs to the secretariat − nominated by the Finnish Ministry of the Education and Culture − that envisage how digitalisation and artificial intelligence could support the future development of the universities. She is also in charge of the strategy and business development work package (WP2) of the European Commission project EOSC-hub providing services for the European Open Science Cloud.
