Damien Lecarpentier

Damien Lecarpentier

Damien Lecarpentier is a Director at CSC, the Finnish IT Center for Science, and currently manages the EUDAT initiative (www.eudat.eu) which aims to build a pan-European sustainable, cross-disciplinary and cross-national data infrastructure providing a set of shared services to access and preserve research data. Damien has an MA in Political Science and a PhD in Social Sciences from the Advanced School of Social Sciences in Paris.

He is also the Dutch liaison for EGI related activities and a member of the EUDAT 'Scientific Communities Environments and Requirements' team. Before joining SURFsara Jan worked on a variety of bioinformatics projects for different Dutch universities.

Lucy Bastin

Lucy comes from Birmingham, UK, where her interest in spatial ecology began with work on green corridors for the local Wildlife Trust. After studying Zoology at Nottingham University, she gained a Masters’ in GIS and a PhD on metapopulation and source-sink dynamics of plant species in the urban habitat mosaic. Her postdoctoral work on the EU FP5 FLIERS project focussed on fuzzy classification of vegetation communities from remote sensing and the efficient visualization of this uncertain information.

Prodromos is the Head of Digital Development at the Onassis Cultural Centre and a Senior Research Fellow at The Media Institute at University College London (UCL)/ BBC. Prodromos has worked for the National Hellenic Research Foundation (National Documentation Centre), the European Commission, Oxford and Oslo Universities, the Athens University of Economics and Business and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He read law and Information Systems in Athens and London and holds a PhD in Law and Information Systems from the LSE.

He has more than 10 years of experience as a project manager in public and private sector organizations. Dr. Filter's current position is senior research scientist, unit Epidemiology and Zoonoses, Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), Germany. His specific interest is development of community resources to increase food safety and security.
